Protest Over Firing of 600 School Aides Tuesday, November 17 8AM

TUESDAY MORNING AT 8:00 AM IN FRONT
OF OUR SCHOOL 141 EAST 111 STREET
BETWEEN LEXINGTON AND PARK AVE
~~
AS WE ALL KNOW, ALMOST 600 SCHOOL AIDES WERE FIRED YESTERDAY FRIDAY 11-13-09 FROM NYC. SCHOOLS AND OUT OF ALL THE SCHOOLS THAT LOST THEIR AIDES P.S. 375 LOST ALL 5 WHERE THE CITY SHOWED THAT THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT THE SAFETY OF OUR CHILDREN, WE HAVE A SCHOOL WITH MORE THAN 11 EXITS AND ONLY 2 SCHOOL SAFETY OFFICERS WHOM ARE IN CHARGE OF FOUR SCHOOLS WHO SHARE THE BUILDING.

THE SCHOOL AIDES ARE THE ONES WHO MAKE THE SCHOOLS RUN THE WAY THEY ARE SUPPOSE TO INCLUDING MAKING THE COPIES OF THE HOMEWORKS WHICH WILL PULL THE TEACHERS OUT OF THE CLASS ROOMS TO DO IT THEMSELVES OR REPROGRAM THEIR LESSON PLANS AND NOONE CARES THAT THIS WILL CAUSE CAOS IN THE SCHOOLS, BUT WHY AFTER DEALING WITH THE ISSUE OF THE CHARTER SCHOOL HARLEM SUCCESS TRYING TO TAKE OVER OUR SCHOOL BUILDING ARE WE THE ONLY SCHOOL TO HAVE LOST ALL FIVE AIDES? KIND OF LIKE TO SET US UP TO FAIL SO THAT THE D.O.E. CAN MOVE IN AND TAKE OUR BUILDING AS PLANNED BY THEM AND THE CHARTER SCHOOLS DEPT.

THAT IS WHY WE ARE INVITING YOU TO BE A PART OF THIS EVENT TO SUPPORT OUR SCHOOL AIDES ON TUESDAY MORNING AT 8:00 AM IN FRONT OF OUR SCHOOL 141 EAST 111 STREET BETWEEN LEXINGTON AND PARK AVE. IN MANHATTAN TAKE THE 6 TRAIN TO 110 STREET, COME OUT AND JOIN LOCAL POLITICIANS, COMMUNITY LEADERS, PARENTS, THE SCHOOL AIDES UNION DC 37, COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS, AND OTHERS WHO HAVE BEEN INVITED TO JOIN IN THIS FIGHT AND TELL MAYOR BLOOMBERG,THE D.O.E, JOEL KLEIN, AND GOV. PATTERSON NO MORE CUTS TO EDUCATION!!! YOU ARE ALSO INVITED TO TELL US WHAT'S THEIR AGENDA FOR OUR SCHOOLS, WE WANT TO KNOW. WE WILL CONTINUE TO FIGHT FOR A QUALITY EDUCATION EVEN IF THAT MEANS GETTING TOGETHER WITH OTHER SCHOOLS ACROSS THE CITY AND HAVE A MASSIVE WALK OUT BECAUSE WITHOUT OUR CHILDREN THE D.O.E. HAS NO JOB AND WE ARE WILLING TO BOYCOTT THE SCHOOL SYSTEM UNTIL THEY STOP THE CUTS TO EDUCATION AND WE KNOW THAT IT IS NOT AN ISSUE OF MONEY BECAUSE THE CITY JUST ANNOUNCED A $96 MILLION DOLLAR REBUILDING GRANT FOR CONEY ISLAND, SO IS IT OK FOR US TO HAVE AN AMUSEMENT PARK BUT NO EDUCATION? THIS IS THE MESSAGE SENT AND WE MUST SAY…
ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
