Subject: Staff Update: Josh Wallack
Dear Colleagues,
I’m excited to announce a new appointment to our leadership team. Josh Wallack will join us as Chief Strategy Officer, fulfilling a critical role thinking through long-term strategies to strengthen school support, to improve classroom instruction, and to help lead the implementation of universal pre-kindergarten.
Josh comes with decades of experience in City government and education, most recently leading The Children’s Aid Society early childhood programs, where he worked to provide comprehensive support to children and their families in targeted, high-needs New York City neighborhoods. While at The Children’s Aid Society, he served on Mayor de Blasio’s Universal Pre-Kindergarten Implementation Working Group. Prior, Josh was the Chief Operating Officer for the New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) where he supervised four operating divisions of NYCEDC and led projects critical to the City’s economic development agenda. Notably, Josh also served as the Legislative Director for then-Council Member Bill de Blasio from 2002 to 2006.
Josh brings strategic guidance that will be a real asset to our team; please join me in welcoming him.
Best,
Carmen FariƱa
